1.Describe a new law you would like to introduce in your country

  You should say:

  What law it is

  What changes thislaw brings

Whether this newlaw will be popular

How you came up with the newlaw

And explain how you feel about this newlaw

  sample answer:

When it comes to(当涉及到,当谈到...)laws l'd love to see implementedin China, alaw targeting campus bullying(校园霸凌) and adolescent crimes(青少年犯罪) holds a special place.l firmly believe that safeguarding our children's well-being and ensuring a safe learning environment is paramount(至为重要的)。

This proposed law would not only outlaw bullying and adolescent crimes but also establish clear consequences for perpetrators(犯罪者),ranging from detention to life imprisonment depending on the severity of the offense. This approach sends a strong message that such behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Actually, my motivation for this idea stemmed from(源于) a distressing(悲伤的、痛苦的)news reportlsaw, detailing(v.详述) how three junior middle school students had inflicted grave harm on(对...造成严重伤害) one of their peers. This tragicincident underscored the urgent need for stronger legislation to combat campus bullying and adolescent crimes.

The implementation of this law would undoubtedly make a significant impact. lt would empower students to(赋权给某人做某事) speak out against bullying, knowing that they have the law to protect them.Furthermore, it would contribute to reducing the overall crime rate and fostering a sense of security within society.

Well, this law is not just about punishing law-breakers(违法者) it's about creating a culture of respect, compassion(同情), and safety for all students. And that, in my view, is a worthwhile goal worth pursuing(值得追求的有价值的目标)

2.Describe a picture/photograph of you that you like

  You should say:

  Where it was taken/drawn

When it was taken/drawn Who took/drewit And explain how you felt about it

Well, one of my favorite photographs is a picture of me taken during a hiking trip last summer. The photo captures a moment at the top of Mount jinfo, which is a popular hiking destination near Chongqing.lt was a clear, sunny day, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking.

In the photograph,l'm standing on a rocky outcrop(露出地面的) with a panoramic view(全景视野) of the lush green forest(郁郁葱葱的森林)stretching out below me.The skyis abrilliant blue(明亮的蓝色),and you can see a few clouds floating by. l'm wearing a bright orangejacket, which stands out vividly against the natural backdrop have a wide smile on my face, and you can tell that I'm feeling elated and accomplished(得意洋洋)after the challenging climb.

What llove most about this picture is how it perfectly encapsulates the sense of adventure and freedom l felt during that trip.lt brings back memories of the fresh mountain air, the sounds of birds chirping, and the sheer joy of being immersed in nature.

Additionally, the hike itselfwas quite demanding, so the photograph also represents a personal achievement for me. Every time llook at it feel a surge of motivation and a reminder of my own resilience(复原力)anddetermination(决心).

Moreover, the picture holds sentimental value(情感价值)because l was accompanied by a close friend who took the photo.Wehad planned the trip together for months, and it was a great bondingexperience. The entire journey, from the early morning start to thecelebratory snacks at the summit, is captured in that single image. It's not just a snapshot; it's a story of friendship, perseverance(毅力),and the beauty of the natural world.

In summary, this photograph is special to me because it recordsa significant moment of accomplishment and joy. lt reminds me ofthe beautiful landscapes l had the privilege to explore and themeaningful connectionslstrengthened during that adventureWheneverl feel stressed or need a boost ofinspiration, l look at thispicture andinstantly feel uplifted.

3.Describe an important plant in your country

  You should say:

  What it is

  Where you see it

  What it looks like

  And explain whyit isimportant

  Sample answer:

Well, when l think of an important plant in my country, China, thefirst thing that comes to my mind is the peony(牡丹,芍药),or whatwe commonly call the "Mudan." it's not just a flower, it's a culturasymbol in China.

I see peonies everywhere during the spring season. You can findthem in parks, gardens, and even people's homes. My grandparentshad a small peony garden in their backyard, andlremember howexcited l was when the flowers bloomed, with their vibrant colors anddelicate petals(娇嫩的花瓣)

Peonies need fertile soil(肥沃的土壤) and plenty of sunshine togrow. They have straight, long stems, and the flowers bloom on top.Peonies have really large flowers, sometimes even as big as a dinnerplate! They come in a range of colors from pink and red to white andeven purple. The petals are soft and velvety(光滑柔软的),and thewhole flower has a really rich and luxurious feel.

Now,as for why peonies are so important, they're not justbeautiful flowers. In Chinese culture, the peony is a symbol of wealthprosperity(繁荣),and good luck.People believe that havingpeonies in their homes or gardens will bring them good fortune.

But more than that, peonies have a special place in Chinese artand literature. Many ancient Chinese poems and paintings featurepeonies, and they're often used to represent elegance and beauty.Tang Dynasty's famous poet Li Bai's poem "Clouds and flowersremind me of her dress and looks. Spring wind brushes the rails, dews moisten the flowers"(云想衣裳花想容,春风拂槛露华浓)perfectly captures the elegance of peonies, and reading such poemshelps people better understand the history and culture of that era.

Plus, the peony flower has medicinal properties(药性,药用价值).Different parts of it can be used as Chinese herbal medicine(中草药)to help people maintain good health.

So, for me, the peony is not only a beautiful addition to thenatural landscape, but it also holds immense(极大的)culturaltraditional, and medicinalimportance in my country.

4.Describe something you own that you want to replace

You should say:What it isWhere it isHow you got itAnd explain why you want to replace it.

The laptoplcurrently own,a trusty(可靠的)but aging(老I的)15-inch Dell Inspiron, has faithfully served me for(服务了我....)the past five years. However, its performance has started to lag(拖延)behind my needs. The once-speedy Intel Core i7 processor nowstruggles to keep up with my multitasking demands(多任务需求)often leading to frustrating lags and freezes(让人沮丧的慢和卡).The8GB of RAM, which used to be sufficient, now struggles to handle mygrowing(不断增长的)colection of resource-intensiveapplications(吃资源的程序)and browser tabs(标签页).The batterylife, once a respectable(质量不错的)6 hours, now barely lasts 2hours on afull charge, tethering(東缚) me to power outlets.

In my quest for a replacement, l have my eyes set on the sleekand powerful 13-inch MacBook Pro. lts lightning-fast M2 chippromises to handle all my tasks with ease, while the 16GB of unifiedmemory(合计内存)ensures smooth multitasking. The vibrantRetina display(艳丽的视网膜屏)and long-lasting(持久的) batterylife of up to 10 hours are enticing features(诱人的特色)that wouldgreatly enhance my productivity on the go(忙的不可开交)Additionally, the seamless integration with my existing Appleecosystem is an added bonus that would streamline my workflow(精简工作流).lt's time to bid farewell(告别)to my faithful Dell andembrace the next level of computing with the MacBook Pro.

5.Describe a special meal that someone made for you

  You should say:

Who did itWhen and how he/she cookedWhat and why he/she cooked for youAnd explain how you felt about the meal.

About two months ago, during ahiking trip in themountainous(多山的)region near my city,l stumbled upon(偶遇)a charming village nestled amidst(坐落于...之中)lush greenmountains. Exhausted yet curious about the local culture andcuisine, ldecided to take a detour(绕路) and explore a nearby rurafarmhouse:inn(农家乐)for ataste of authentic countrysidehospitality(殷勤款待,食宿招待)

Aslapproached the rustic(乡村的,淳朴的)wooden entranceadorned(装饰)with hand-painted signs, the aroma(香味)ofreshly cooked meals enticed (诱) me to step inside.l found a seatby the window, allowing me to admire the beautiful mountain views.

What made this meal special was that there was no menu;simply ate whatever they cooked. Since the place was far from townthe ingredients were sourced(采购,来源于)from their own yardand brought in from town every few days.

The meal consisted of simple yet delicious dishes, like stir-friedbamboo shoots with preserved meat(竹笋炒腊肉),tender pork ribsbraised(炖煮)with potatoes in a savory(咸的/辛辣味的/可囗的)sauce, and one of my favorites is the chilled cucumbers with a subtlynumbing(微麻)flavor

Besides, arriving late afternoon,l was the only guest, so linvitedthe owners,an old couple, sit and share the meal with me.savored(尽情享受)each dish while Mrs. Chen shared tales ofcountryside life, from the challenges of farming to the joys ofharvesting(收获)fresh produce.

After the meal, lresumed(重新开始)my hiking journey, but theexperience stayed with me.lt was a memorable encounter ofgenuine(真正的)hospitality and delicious food in the heart of(在...中央)rural China.
