The government now plans to establish some car-free zones in the center of the city. Some like this plan for they believe it can help eliminate traffic congestion, while others dislike it because not being able to reach places like stores and restaurants by car is very inconvenient to them. What do you think of this plan and why?

Sample: with sweeping trend of(随着---的风靡) urbanization, people in increasing number are flooding into(蜂拥而入) cities for better opportunities. Under this circumstance, cities become more and more populated and parking becomes a hot topic in conversations. Car free zones should be implemented.
For one thing, in streets with cars parked on both sides, pedestrians(行人), bicycles and motor riders often have difficulties traveling. On many narrow streets, the pathway becomes even narrower when cars are packed, leaving little space to travel in between. In a lot of situations, cars have to make several turns to exit out of its spot, which makes it troublesome for other non-car riders to keep going. Places where there are no car free zones, cars often block the way when they are parking and exiting. Inconvenience caused by traffic creates frustration for citizens, as they will not be able to arrive at their destinations on time. the drivers also have to spend lots of time parking their cars as there are always pedestrians crossing. The lack of car free zones decrease the efficiency of our everyday life and they should be added.
For another, the gaining popularity in private vehicles not only increases the rate of traffic jams, but also gives rise to(导致) serious air pollution. Car free zones could lessen the cars in streets and encourage the public to use public transportation. Whether it be buses or subways, they could easily replace private vehicles and are cost-friendly(经济实惠). Large flows of cars in streets produce an enormous amount of carbon dioxide and other toxic gases to the air, which could cloud up the sky, degrade air quality and pose a potential threat to people’s well-being. A gradual shift from cars to public transportation could reduce the emission of greenhouse gas in cities in a long run. Setting up some car free zones incentivize people to switch to a more environmentally friendly alternative transport means during their travel.
However, many say that car free zones will impose negative influences on the development of the businesses by preventing customers from visiting. As a matter of fact, in the city center, even though there are no car free zones, the majority of customers still have trouble parking on the grounds that(因为) enough spots are not available. As long as the government makes careful and considerate planning about public transport, the adverse effects triggered by this practice will be diminished to the least extent(减到程度).
As regulations on parking are still being discussed in populated areas, every choice involves benefits as well as drawbacks. However, car free zones should be carried out or else(否则) traffic congestion will become a hard nut to crack(棘手的问题) most major cities have to be confronted with(面对).
