With the progression of the civilization, more and more parents choose to have fewer children. However, this trend doesn’t mean parents prefer to spend more time on themselves and less on their children. On the contrary, they want to pay more attention to each child. The increasing attention gives people more questions than answers as they are not exactly sure what is the best way to raise children. Some people point out weekly money is a good way to train children, whereas others are strongly against this idea. As far as I’m concerned, it is beneficial for parents to give children some weekly money.
First of all, some money every week could grant benefit to children’s study. It is common to see that parents bury themselves in various kinds of responsibilities, since they are supposed to make money to support the family, to take care of their children and so on. Consequently, children couldn’t really get full attention from their parents. In this case, when children need to buy some books which are helpful to their study, they may not be able to get them in time, since they should wait until their parents are available to go to the store with them and purchase the books. However, if they could get some weekly money, they could just pay for those books themselves whenever they see them in the store, which could really help them solve the problems in study in time.
Moreover, some weekly money could also help children stay healthy.Children go to school in the morning, and come back home at noon for lunch and in the evening for dinner, which means the only chances for children to get some food are before going to school, at noon and in the evening. This may not be enough, since children usually need to consume a large quantity of energy for body growth and for study as well. However, if children have some money with them, they could get some snack and keep themselves away from starving. However, some people may argue that children could choose to take in a huge amount of energy before going to school to ensure the daily consumption. This may seem plausible, but it is not healthy to take in too much energy from one meal, since it is harder to control in this way and children may accidentally take in too much energy and gain weight. Obesity may be the cause of many diseases. Hence, it is healthier to eat some whenever children feel hungry.
Furthermore, giving weekly money is also a good way to train children to have a good money management skill. Children will grow up eventually and one of the issues they should deal with when they grow up is to manage their own money, so that they won’t go bankruptcy. However, it is never easy to learn a skill and it is better to learn it since they are small. Giving children some money a week can be a great chance to learn. For example, parents may give a child 50 yuan per month to buy whatever he likes. Then this child needs to decide how much money he would like to spend and how much he would like to save for future expenditure. This becomes especially important when he wants to buy something more expensive than 50 yuan. For example, he may be fond of a toy car which may cost 150 yuan. In this case, he will have to learn how to save some money for long term goal while satisfying daily needs. Gradually, he will understand how to make plans for money and thus could manage his money better.
Since weekly money could help children study better, get better health and learn to manage money, it is definitely beneficial to give children some money every week.
