Whatis the main topic of the article?

  Whatis the passage mainly about?

What would be the best title for this story?

The Golden Gate Bridge is a famous bridge in San Francisco. The bridge has a red color.but gray clouds often surround it. On clear days people come to take pictures of the bridge. The pictures show the green hills next to the bridge and the blue water under it.

What is this text mostly about?

  (A) Gray clouds

  (B) San Francisco

  (C) A famous bridge

  (D)Taking photographs

Ouestions 24-29 are about the following passage.Plato was a phllosopher in Classical Greece and the founder of the Academy in Athens. the first institution of higher learning in the Western world. Along with his teacher, Socrates, and his most famous student, Aristotle, Plato laid the very foundations of Western philosophy and science.

Plato was the innovator of the dialogue and dialectic forms in philosophy, which originated with him Plato greatly admired and emulated Socrates. He often wrote down the interesting dialogues that occurred between Socrates and various intellectuals. Plato would study these written conversations to gain further knowledge from his master.

After Socrates died, Plato followed in his footsteps by establishing his own school of philosophy in 385 BC, calling it the Academy. It rapidly acquired the reputation as the most famous classical school of that era.Furthermore, the dialogues that Plato had transcribed from Socrates were used as a basis to teach lessons about mathematics, logic, philosophy, and other subjects.

After some time, Plato began writing The Republic, which is considered a masterpiece and one of the greatest manuscripts in Western Philosophy. With it, Plato appears to have been the founder of Western political philosophy. He questioned not only what is just for an individual but for a society as a whole He claimed that the leaders of his era ruled not with their logic and intellect but with their ego and power Meanwhile, Plato believed that the states needed to be governed by “philosopher kings", leaders who ruled from logic instead of greed, and that educational systems needed to be developed in order to teach students how to reason and think.

Colleges and universities around the world still use Plato's The Republic in philosophy classes, and many governmental systems worldwide rely on his theories to rule their states. What Plato proposed was true aemocracy.and until true aemocracy is cxccurted, a state camnot rcach happiness and stability.

24.What's the main topic of this passage?

  (A) Plato's The Republic

  (B) The Academy

  (C) The achievements of Plato

  (D) The dialogue and dialectic forms

然后我们再结合0段“Plato laid the veryfoundations of..."以及最后一段"many governmentalsystems still rely on his theories”这些表达,不难感受出这篇文章主要想突出"Plato“的一些成就。

But,However......

Going online is a favorite pastime for millions of American children. Almost 10 million (14 percent) of America's 69 million children are online. The Internet both entertains and educates children, however, there are some possible negative consequences for children who access kid-based Web sites. Advertising onkid-based Web sites has become both a rapidly growing market for consumer companies and a concern forparents. With a click on an icon, children can link to advertisers and be granted tremendous spending power.Children are an important target group for consumer companies. Children under age 12 spent $14 billion.teenagers another $67 billion, and together they influenced $160 billion of their parents’ incomes.

30.Which headline best summarizes the article?

  (A) Negative Influence of Going Online on

  (B) How Much Money Children Spend onGoing Online

  (C) Criticisms of Unethical Advertisers

  (D) The Underestimation of Children's MediaAwareness
