同学们在完成Task 1数据图时,是否会常出现以下三个问题:
1. 时态问题
eg. C5T1T1中涉及到的时间段为1940~2040,但是很多同学全篇采用一般现在时。
2. 主语选择不当
eg. C8T4T1中,学生以 goods transported in the UK by road为主语,写出Goods transported in the UK were the largest throughout the period from 1974 to 2002. 但是此时goods和the largest的搭配会导致歧义:是size上的还是amount上的。
3. 分段不合理
很多学生为了避免麻烦,不论题型,将所有的细节信息都囊括在一个主体段中。事实上,很多题目的主体段是需要根据趋势或者数字的分类来进行合理分段的。
为了更好地应对以上三种问题,我们需要在Task 1开始写作之前做出一系列的准备动作。(以C8T4T1为例)
Step 1: 理解题意-分辨动态 VS 静态图+决定时态(动态图+过去时),可以将时态写在试卷上并进行重点标注。
Step 2: 在理解题意的基础上浏览表头-确定文章描述对象-文章的主语-the quantity (n. 量)/amount of goods transported in the UK/the figure (n. 数字) for
Step 3: 浏览数字信息-横看看竖看看-决定重点描述的数据+趋势+分段road和pipeline一个一个可采用对比的逻辑放在一段。water和rail刚开始的五年数字几乎相同,可归为一段。Step 4: 开始写作
有了以上准备动作后,咱们就可以很大程度上避免出现上述的几种问题啦~

The line graph illustrates how the amounts of goods transported/conveyed/delivered changed in Britain from 1974 to 2002 by road, water, rail and pipeline.
As is presented in the graph, the quantity of goods delivered by road was the largest throughout the period, increasing gradually from 70 million tonnes in 1974 to just below 100 million tonnes in 2002 despite two slight decreases. On the contrary, the amount of goods delivered by pipeline was the lowest/remained the lowest although it saw/witnessed a constant rise from around 5 million tonnes in 1974 to about 21 million tonnes in 1995.
It can also be seen from the graph that between 1974 and 1978, the quantities of goods conveyed by water and rail were nearly the same at 40 million tonnes. After that, while the figure for water kept stable for 17 years and finally peaked at 65 million tonnes in 2002 after growing slowly to 56 million tonnes in 1980, that for rail fluctuated constantly and eventually/finally rose back to the 1974 figure in 2002.
Overall, it is clear that there were increases in the figures for almost all types of transport except for rail.
