  1、雅思口语事件类题目1

Describe a time when you missed or were late for an important meeting/event [old]

  You should say:

  When it happened

  What happened

Why you missed/were late for it

And explain how you felt about this experience

  Sample answer:

Well, I am going to talk about a time when I was late for a group travel with my colleagues, which is something I guess I will never forget for the rest of my life(永生难忘).

So, If I am not mistaken, it was 3 years ago. At that time, me and my colleagues decided to go to Yading, which is a really beautiful city in Yunnan, famous for its laid back (悠闲放松的) pace of life. You know, we worked really hard that year, so we really needed to find a place far away from the hustle and bustle(繁忙的) modern life, and recharge our batteries(让自己放松).

I remember, the day before the travel, we were very hardworking because we didn’t want to deal with(处理) work when we enjoy the trip. So when I went home, I was so worn out(疲累) that I forgot to set my alarm clock. When I woke up, it’s 8 AM already, and the plane would take off(起飞) at 9. So I was very panic and I quickly dressed up(穿好衣服) and rushed out(冲出) to the airport.

When I was in the taxi, my colleagues kept calling me to make sure I was ok, and I apologized to them, I even burst into tears(突然大哭)because I knew I might ruined whole trip for everyone, and unfortunately, I missed the flight. But, my colleagues messaged me that they had bought the ticket for the next flight for me, so we can meet in Yading. I was deeply touched by them, and I felt so lucky to have friends like them in my life.

Describe something you would like to learn in the future

  You should say:

  What it is

How you would like to learn it

Where you would like to learn it

Why you would like to learn it

And explain whether it's difficult to learn it

  Sample answer:

One skill that I’d love to learn in the future is how to cook authentic(正宗的)Chinese cuisine. As a Chinese, I have grown up eating an array of(大量的,一系列的)Chinese food. However, I have never had the chance to learn the art of cooking them myself.

  Sample answer:

Probably, I would learn from my grandma. She is an exceptional(优秀的,杰出的)cook who has been creating mouthwatering(令人垂涎的)Chinese delicacies for years. I would love to learn from her in her own kitchen, using traditional tools and ingredients(配料,原料).

As for the reasons why I want to learn cooking. Well, first of all, since I’ve decided to study abroad, it would be gratifying(令人满足欣慰的) if I could cook hometown dishes myself in a foreign country. More importantly, it would be a way to connect with my cultural traditions and family history. Besides, I think cooking is a valuable and impressive ability to have.

I am aware that learning how to cook Chinese cuisine can be challenging. The recipes(菜谱) can be complex. There are numerous techniques(技巧), ingredients, and styles involved. However, I believe that with determination(决心)and practice, I can master the fundamentals(基础,基本原理). Additionally, with my grandmother's guidance, I am confident that I can gradually acquire the knowledge and diversity of Chinese dishes, step by step.

Overall, I am excited about learning Chinese cuisine from my grandmother. I believe that this opportunity would enable me to immerse myself in the culinary(烹饪的)traditions of my culture and to develop my culinary skills.

  3、雅思口语事件类题目3

Describe an unusual meal you had

  You should say:

  When you had it

  Where you had it

  Whom you had it with

And explain why it was unusual

  Sample answer:

Well I’m actually quite lucky in the fact that I've been invited to quite a number of unforgettable meals, and the one I've decided to tell you about was a farewell dinner(告别宴/散伙饭) of a good friend of mine, because he was about to go off to(离开去到) Canada for a few years to start university there, so he invited a few of his close friends for a farewell dinner before heading off(出发,启程).

And one of the reasons I’ve chosen to talk about this meal instead of some of the others I've been to is simply that it's still quite fresh in my memory(记忆犹新). You know, it was only about a couple of weeks ago(几周前) when it happened. And as for where we had the meal, well I can't remember the exact name of the place, but it was quite a posh(豪华的) restaurant somewhere in the centre of the city, and judging from how nice it looked when I walked in, it seemed to be a pretty expensive place to dine. So I was kind of relieved that it wouldn’t be me footing the bill(付账) And we also had our own separate room, which was nice, and probably just as well, seeing as we made quite a bit of noise during the meal, what with all the laughing and stuff going on.

Anyway regarding(至于,说到) what we ate, well I couldn’t tell you every single dish(每一道菜) that we had, because there was just so much, you know, the whole table was literally covered with food. I mean, there was crab, chicken, duck, what else, um,... oh yeah, shrimps, and, uh.. and a whole load of different vegetables. So by the end of it, I was absolutely stuffed(饱的). You know, we all ate masses(吃很多), because the food was so good, and it would have been a bit of a pity to see it go to waste!

But anyway, finally then, with regard to how I felt about the meal, well to put it simply(简单来说), I really enjoyed it. Because as well as the food, which was fantastic, I really enjoyed everyone’s company. You know, it was great being together with so many good friends, many of which I hadn’t seen in quite a while(好久没见)

So yeah, all in all, it was a really unforgettable evening, and I'm extremely grateful to have been invited, and also very grateful to my friend for his generosity, as the bill must have come to quite a lot, I'm sure!

  4、雅思口语事件类题目4

Describe a piece of good news that you heard about someone you know well

  You should say:

  What it was

  When you heard it

  How you knew it

And explain how you felt about it

  Sample answer:

I would like to talk about the most remarkable news that I received from my cousin. It so happened that my cousin Mark put up the status on WeChat that he was flying to Canada for his higher education after senior secondary.

Last month, I was scrolling through (滚动, 刷手机) WeChat when I got a notification; I opened it, and lo and behold(你瞧)! I read his status that he had got his Visa and was going to Canada to do a course in Business Management. I was indeed on cloud nine(非常高兴)! Given how much time my friend spent studying and learning by heart, passing his board exam came as no surprise. All those sleepless nights have definitely paid off (取得成功)! I’m overjoyed about his accomplishment and excited about his opportunities.

Without a doubt (无疑的), I called him immediately and congratulated him. I told him that I was very happy about his plan, but at the same time, I was a bit angry that he hadn’t told me anything about it before when we met at the family reunion (家庭聚会) last month.

He told me that it had all been a sudden (突然的) plan and that he had no intention of hiding anything. He had no intention of going abroad because of his parents who were against his plan. But, Mark had an ultimate dream to study abroad. So, he had a tough time convincing his parents to send him abroad, but then they agreed, and he applied. He was very busy in the application process, but luckily he got the visa on the fifth day after submitting his file.

So, this good news I received from my cousin really made me tickled pink (高兴极了).

  5、雅思口语事件类题目5

Describe a time when you taught a friend/relative something [old]

  You should say:

  Who you taught

  What/how you taught

  What the result was

And explain how you felt about the experience

  Sample answer:

Recently, my cousin approached me for help(找我寻求帮助) with a programming project. He was learning Python and had a specific(特定的) task to complete, but he was stuck on(被困在)some of the code.

I started by going through the requirements of the project and understanding what exactly he needed to accomplish(完成). Then, I broke down(分解) the task into smaller steps and helped him write code for each step. I explained the reasoning behind each line of code so that he could understand it better.

We spent several hours working on the project together, and in the end, he was able to complete the task successfully and independently(独立地). He was grateful for (对…感到感激的)the help and felt much more confident in his programming abilities.

I felt really content(满足的) about the experience of teaching my cousin because I love programming, and it was fulfilling (令人愉快的)to help someone else understand it better. It was also a reminder (提醒)that learning is a continuous process(持续的过程), and it's important to share knowledge and help others along the way.
