Actually, I am an ardent admirer of Chinese animation movies. Last year, there was a fascinating movie which turned out to be an unexpected winner, called Ne Zha, I am the Destiny. However, this year, I would like to say there is an equally remarkable film, called Jiang Zi Ya.
It made its debut on October 1st of 2020. The minute I saw the schedule released, I reserved the seats without any hesitation, for fear of failing to grab the best seats. I watched the entire movie with one of my friends. At the very beginning of the film, we both chuckled about the amusing storyline. It made me laugh frequently, especially when Jiang Ziya appeared on screen. What was strikingly different was that its image has been converted from the traditional strong-built legendary creature into a vicious but adorable monster, which might be much more readily accepted by little girls. Furthermore, I think the characters were quite well-developed, for example, Jiang Zi Ya has also become an ordinary man like you and me, rather than an omnipotent immortal. I really enjoyed this film because although it may have profound insight into life, its also quite light-hearted, at least the first half. It’s a great movie that might help you unwind in the evening.
