(1) Well, let’s start. The perfect weather I’m gonna talk about is a rainy day when I quite enjoyed staying indoors.

(2) Well, it was about early June, I woke up around 8 o’clock as usual in the morning but discovered it was overcast outsides and it was spitting.

clouds overhead/ overcast: covered by clouds

spitting: rain very lightly

drizzling: rain lightly

(3) Cos that was a day-off so it was perfect to sleep in until mid-day in that gloomy morning.

(vocab)

sleep in: sleep longer than youusually do

gloomy: nearly dark that makes people feel sad

(4) Right after I got up, it still kept drizzling outdoors but which didn’t prevent me from hanging out with friends in a shopping mall.

(5) I know lots of people may be annoyed by a rainy day when their clothes might be soaked, but it’s just convenient for me to take a lift to the parking lot downstairs.

slippery: being wet and smooth so it is difficult to walk

e.g. The floor is wet so it’s slippery.

(6) You know, since the weather forecast had told us that a thunderstorm was coming and local residents were rather worried about inundation, streets were empty and I, on the contrary, felt quite thrilled about travelling in a desert road.

(7) Fortunately, when I took off the taxi, it began to chuck it down with lightening and thunders.

(8) However, there were loads of shoppers walking in the mall whose spirit of shopping was dampened by the downpour at all.

(9) I and my friend had brunches and watched the scenery outside.

(10) You know, summer in Guangzhouis baking hot and boiling andwinter is humid and freezing when I need to bundle up.

chilly: a little bit cold

(11) So, that summer rainy day in a holiday was prefect for indoor activities.
