People may experience many important moments in their life, such as graduation, wedding, birthday, etc. and it is common that those important moments will become precious memories that they want to remember all their life. In this case, some people prefer to record those moments with pictures or videos, while others disagree. From my perspective, it is surely a good idea to record those moments with videos or pictures.
First of all, videos and pictures are good ways to enjoy those big events. At the day of the big events, people are usually quite busy. For example, at the graduation ceremony, students are busy with listening to speeches or receiving their own diploma; at wedding ceremony, the bride and bridegroom are usually occupied by various kinds of rituals and meeting and talking with relatives and friends. As a result, it is hard for them to really take a moment and enjoy these big events. If they choose not to record those events, it will be a great pity as they will not have the chance to really indulge themselves in those events. However, videos and pictures could be the thing for them to review the big events again and again after the events, so that they could get a real moment and really enjoy the fun.
Moreover, it is also a good way to share the happiness with others. When important events happen, people would usually love to share those events with families and friends. But the case is typically that not every family member or friend could come and join the ceremony. For example, some people’s graduation ceremony is held in another country and they are only allowed to invite limited number of guests, which means most of their friends and relatives won’t get the chance to attend the ceremony in person; even for wedding ceremony held in the same country, some relatives or friends may be too occupied or too far away to join. In this case, videos and pictures will be important tools to share happiness with those relatives or friends who cannot come, since describing the events is usually boring and time-consuming.
Furthermore, videos and pictures can make the memory more complete. Even though people are careful enough to remember every minute in the big events, they can only look at the events from their own angle, which could be limited. For example, at wedding ceremony, the bride and bridegroom may notice how lovely their lovers are on the stage and how exciting the parents are. It is almost impossible for them to notice or remember the reactions of various guests who are also important in this big event. But watching videos and looking at pictures can give them a precious opportunity to look closely at the reactions of various guests and they may notice that all the guests feel excited for them and are really enjoying the ceremony and food, which can add to the fun of the big events.
To sum up, since recording big events with pictures and videos could help people enjoy the events, share happiness and have a more complete memory, it is surely a good idea to do that.
