  2雅思口语part2话题参考文本

Three years ago, I met a student who is from Japan. We met in a one-on-one class and that was the first time I taught a student from Japan. Since most of my students are Chinese, so it is quite interesting to have a conversation with him alone because I had never been to japan and always been interested in the Japanese culture and mindset. He is a financial analyst working for the bank of Japan and had lived in China for three years. His English is quite advanced and he didn’t have any accent either contrary to the stereotype that Japanese English is hard to understand. We discussed about the economic situation in Japan and also how Japanese people feel about Americans. Also, he is an expert of Japanese cuisine and knows all the authentic Japanese restaurants in Beijing.

He is very polite and well-spoken and we had a great conversation. I felt like he is very reserved when it comes to politics and any sensitive topics and I can feel that he doesn’t want to openly criticize other countries people as he probably didn’t want to offend anyone. But what is funny is that he had no qualms about criticizing his own country. Before he said anything about my country, which is America, he would always add “with all due respect”, which I find to be a little too “polite”.

So after the class, we were gonna exchange phone numbers and he got a phone call and had to leave immediately. I wish I could see him again in the future, and try some of the Japanese restaurants he recommended.
