Describe a time when you ate something for the first time
You should say:
• What you ate
• When you ate it
• Where you were
• And explain how you felt about it
和“Food”相关的维度包括:type/ flavor/ ingredients/ texture/ portion/ cooking ways/ popularity/ history/ origin/ inventor/ function/ price/ quantity (可思考稀有性)/ customer/ when/ where/ how often/ appearance (size/ color/ shape/ decoration) etc.
从美容养颜来看,可以反推出来的食物有“阿胶糕”,“燕窝”等;
从保护眼睛来看,可以反推出的食物有“蛇胆”等;
01.What you ate
Example one:price
A kind of food that comes to mind is snake meatballs. As it was made from a poisonous snake, the price was higher. I didn't understand at first why it was so expensive but my father explained to me that the more poisonous the snake is, the more medicinal value it has.
Example two:popularity
I remember the first time I had fish and chips. It is a traditional dish in the UK and really popular especially on the coast where fish and chips restaurants are dotted everywhere.
01.When you ate
种,按“how you know about...”
Example :
I already knew about fish and chips as I had studied UK cultures and traditions at school but I had never tried it. Then I had the opportunity about 5 years ago when I went to the UK to study for my MA.
Example :
I clearly remember the first time I tried meatballs. It was about five years ago. It was a Sunday afternoon and it was pouring down outside, so I just wanted to stay indoors. However, my father asked me to go somewhere with him, as he had learned from a doctor that eating snake flesh would be good for my skin.
03.Where you ate
Example:
I had it at home. my uncle had dropped it off on his way to work so my mum spent the whole afternoon preparing and cooking it. It was also the first time we had our meal on the rooftop terrace. The beautiful view made the food tastier.
Example:
Actually, I had fish and chips in a time-honored restaurant which isn’t very far from my dorm. It was very popular among locals and when I went there around 2 pm, it was still packed out.
But it wasn’t very expensive and they even gave a discount to students, so it only cost me around 5 pounds for a very large portion of fish and chips.
Example:
Actually, my father took me to a small village not far from my home which is an hour's drive. Even though it is small, it is very famous for its snake dishes. Lots of people come to enjoy the food. When we arrived, my father ordered a big snake and the chef cooked it for us.
04.How you felt about it
Example :
Honestly, I thought it was delicious. I squeezed fresh lemon on the fish and the taste was incredible. The chips were a little greasy 油腻的 but they were very good. It was surprising as I had seen so many posts in China about how awful fish and chips were.
I continued to eat fish and chips during my stay in the UK and became a regular in the local take away - I would treat myself every Friday night.
Example :
To be honest, I felt a little bit scared when eating the snake meatballs as I have a snake phobia but I ended up eating a lot, as my father told me it could help my skin. Actually, my skin was a bit sensitive to sunlight and I would always come out in a rash if I had too much sun so I was curious to see if it could help.
After eating the snake dish, my skin was still sensitive to the sunlight, but it was much better than before. so every year I go back to the restaurant.
Example :
Honestly, it was very tasty. The fish was very tender and the chips were very crispy. However, I felt very guilty after the whole meal, as it was so greasy. I had heard that there are so many calories in a plate of fish and chips so I decided not to eat them all the time as I didn't want to put on weight.
• What you ate
I remember the first time I had fish and chips. It is a traditional dish in the UK and really popular especially on the coast.
• When you ate it
